Cheap TV Spots Not in Talks to Acquire Spot Runner

October 2, 2006 by context

Revolutionary online discount TV and radio advertising agency Cheap TV Spots (http://www.cheap-tv-spots.com) today dispelled rumors circulating the blogosphere that it is in talks to acquire rival Spot Runner. Says company president Ann Clark, “Cheap TV Spots already provides production and airing of local TV and radio ads, and has no need to acquire any another agency at this time.” Clark adds, “Granted, we are growing, and are pursuing new avenues to accelerate that growth.”

While both companies provide discount production, Cheap TV Spots produces custom-made, budget priced, national quality commercials in 15, 30 and 60 second formats, and airs them locally and nationally. Cheap TV Spots serves the brick & mortars like health spas, franchises, and restaurants, via venues such as broadcast, satellite, cable, radio, in-store displays, e-mail, mobile, and website distribution. Cheap TV Spots also specializes in national campaigns for web-based businesses.

Many discount agencies sell ads that are non-tailored –simply a fixed set of images with the advertiser’s name and number added at the end. By contrast, Cheap TV Spots are custom-engineered cultural communication tools built around the advertiser’s message.

“Because we do custom productions, we can distribute our ads without the royalties or restrictions of systems such as Spot Runner, which borrows older, previously aired commercials from other ad agencies and producers, for limited local use,” Clark says.

Air time is a major line item in any TV campaign budget. Cheap TV Spots individually negotiates each air time buy with the networks and systems, so unlike some other agencies, they do not charge inflated rates to compensate for natural network price fluctuations.

Cheap TV Spots shook the industry to its foundations when it opened in 2001 with national quality TV ads starting at $499. Cheap TV Spots’ legendary short turnaround time from concept to completion is as little as one day. “We will soon be offering another groundbreaking service that will again shake up the industry,” Clark says. “Disruptive business models ‘R’ us.”

“The world market for advertising is changing. With search engines expanding their horizons further into video, it’s good for the market to have options.”

“Cheap TV Spots” and the three-dogs logo are a registered trademark of Academy Leader, Inc., a multi-faceted media company spanning the internet, TV, radio and film venues. Cheap TV Spots has won 41 national and international awards for its original commercial productions, including 5 Telly Awards.
